*Determine the mental and psychological state of the pets and assess and adapt approach
*Plan the visit according to the specific needs and requirements of each pet.
*Make their visit pleasant or at the very least, tolerable.
2. Hygiene
*Bathing and drying together with proper brushing will ensure that no matts or tangles form and cause problems with hygiene and pain. It will remove excess hair and help the pets through their molting.
Ears, bums, privates, eyes should be thoroughly cleaned and and inspected
Sanitary trims ensure that the areas are kept short and easy to keep clean and dry
3. Early Detection
*A good parlour will have a methodology of checking the pet thoroughly throughout the grooming process and will/ should mention any problems or issues that they come across. Bumps, lumps, injuries, growths, signs of infections or other problems should be reported to you. If they are unable to do that, find another groomer. ,
4. Grooming
*Bath & Dry – A good quality shampoo and some proper washing techniques to clean every inch of the pet. A pet must be 100% dried after bathing. they cannot be left to self dry or air dry. As part of this process they should also get a thorough brushing to stimulate the skin and remove any loose hair.
*The ears should be cleaned , teeth brushed and nails should be trimmed.
If your groomer is uncomfortable with any of these – find someone else.
5. Styling/Shaving/Beauty
*This only constitutes a small but popular part of what we do. It is also the more glorified part of pet grooming. It is not our primary function. It forms the last “finishing” stage of the whole grooming process. Don’t be fooled, grooming dogs and cats are not like playing with puppies or kittens all day. It is hard work and can be very dangerous. Reputable groomers will inform you of any behavioral problems your pets might exhibit , and some may even refuse to groom them all together.
